- About Us
The Vice-President (Experience & Engagement) leads a portfolio that contributes to a range of activities and events that support a positive out-of-class experience and assist students to feel part of a community while studying at the University of Newcastle.
The VP (Experience & Engagement) has the opportunity to enhance the student experience through developing and supporting extra-curricular events and activities at the University, as well as supporting Student Media and the Clubs & Societies program.
In addition to the overarching functions of the Student Experience & Engagement Committee, it is the responsibility of the VP (Experience & Engagement) to lead the Committee representatives and support them in their activities to ensure they can, and are, serving the membership of their cohort.
The VP (Experience & Engagement) works closely with the President, UNSA Staff, and the other members of the Executive, particularly the Media Officer, to achieve these responsibilities.
Hi, I’m Georgie, returning as your UNSA VP Experience & Engagement for 2022! I’m a fourth-year Law student and completed my Bachelor of Science in 2021.
This year I’m excited to help bring lots of fun events and activities to students across all University of Newcastle locations and to work closely with our amazing clubs and student media teams. I'm here to listen and advocate for your ideas and concerns, so feel free to get in touch via UNSA!
Clubs & societies, student media, events and volunteering are some of the best parts of being at uni – there’s something for everyone to get involved with, make great friends and feel part of a community. Some fabulous groups that I’m especially passionate about are the Cheerleading Club (GO SEAHAWKS!), the Law Students Association (UNLSA), Writer’s Club and Environment Club (NUSEC).
In the rare moments that I'm not studying, working or cheerleading, you'll probably catch me at the beach, op-shopping or looking after my houseplants. I also love travelling (when possible) and cooking new vegetarian recipes - homemade pizza, sushi and banana bread have been my lockdown favourites.
